FORMER Premier Soccer League champions Motor Action were relegated on Saturday after losing 2-0 to Black Rhinos as Harare City temporarily claimed top spot with a 21 win over Buffaloes.

The Mighty Bulls, champions in 2010, have 18 points from 26 matches and the highest they can reach even if they win the remaining four is 30, which is not enough to save them.

Lot Chiunga and Brighton Mugoni scored the twin goals that condemned the former champions to the Northern Region Division One.

Motor Action have struggled financially this season and lost their coach Joey Antipas two months ago. Antipas is now in charge of Chicken Inn, who faced another relegation threatened side Monomotapa at Gwanzura on Sunday.

Tripple B from the Central Region also bade farewell as they were hammered 5-0 by Triangle at Dulibadzimu Stadium in Beitbridge. Tripple B have 19 points and can’t reach the safety zone even with four wins.

Courage Denias, Walter Mukanga, Limited Chikafa, Misheck Mburayi and Pasca Manhanga were on target for Triangle.

With the big match between Highlanders and Dynamos set for Sunday, City seized the opportunity to lead the standings with a 2-1 victory achieved from goals by Nathan Ziwini and Silas Songani on either side of the half.

Highlanders dropped to second with 47 points and Dynamos are third with 45 points and are joined by FC Platinum who won the Zvishavane Derby with a 1-0n win over Shabanie Mine after Mitchell Katsvairo struck after just 39 seconds of play at Mandava Stadium.

Caps United beat How Mine 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium with Leonard Fiyado scoring the only goal of the match late in the second half.
