NEWLY promoted ZPC Kariba’s PSL future remains in limbo as they are yet to register their 2014 squad with one week left to the kickoff of the new season.

The club which is owned by the Zimbabwe power utility company is facing possible disbandment from the energy ministry which is against the funding of football amid increasing power outages in the country.

With all clubs having started registering their players since last month, the PSL had given ZPC until Friday to affiliate and register players but the club requested for more days to register.

PSL chief executive officer Kenny Ndebele said the league governing body has since refereed the matter to Zifa.

“They are yet to register players as well as affiliating and they have now asked for more time to put their house in order. We feel Zifa are now in a better position to deal with this matter. We will now wait to hear from Zifa,” Ndebele said.

The club did not even participate in PSL elections earlier this month since they are not affiliated.

If they are disbanded, the move is likely to plunge into chaos the running of the league as they have already been fixture.
