Shabanie Mine 1-1 ZPC Kariba

ZPC Kariba remained the only unbeaten team in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League after 12 matches after scoring a late equaliser to draw 1-1 against Shabanie Mine at Maglas Stadium on Sunday.

After Highlanders lost to Dynamos 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium, ZPC can now claim two issues-they are unbeaten and they beat the defending champions.

After a goalless 45 minutes, Ashley Mukwena beat goalkeeper Tendai Hove five minutes after the restart as Shabanie Mine sought to maintain their fine home run.

But Pride Tafirenyika ensured Saul Chaminuka’s men a share of the spoils with a 91st minute equaliser.

It was ZPC’s eighth draw of the season that saw them drop to sixth place with 20 points while Shabanie moved to eighth position.

On a weekend of record breaking results, Hwange also lost their first game at home when they went down 1-0 to Chicken Inn at the Colliery.

Eric Chipeta was still available for Hwange after delivering a sucker punch against Dynamos last weekend, but saw his last minute effort crash against the bar as they searched for the equaliser.

Thomas Chimenya scored the winner in the 19th minute of their match while Caps United won their first game of the season away with a 2-0 romp over Chiredzi FC, who are now certainly headed back to the Eastern Region Division One.

Hard running striker Dominic Chungwa and attacking midfielder Hardlife Zvirekwi scored the goals for the Green Machine in the second half.

FC Platinum secured their third draw in a row when they held How Mine to a 0-0 draw at Luveve Stadium on Sunday.

Sunday: Chiredzi 0-2 Caps United, Dynamos 1-0 Highlanders,Hwange 0-1 Chicken Inn, How Mine 0-0 FC Platinum, Shabanie Mine 1-1 ZPC Kariba

Saturday: Bantu Rovers 3-1 Buffaloes, Black Rhinos 0-0 Triangle
