HIGHLANDERS have completed the signing of utility player Tapiwa Dephistara from Chiredzi United.

The 21-year-old who can play as a midfielder or striker has penned a two-year deal with the Bulawayo giants and will be available for selection in this weekend’s league clash with Bantu Rovers.

The former Gunners man arrives at Highlanders who are chasing a first league title since 2006.

“I am happy to join a big team like Highlanders with rich history in Zimbabwean football. I hope for a successful career here,” Dephistara said.

“I am ready for the challenge of playing for big team where there are a lot of expectations each week from the huge number of fans. Growing up as a young boy, I always wished to play for Highlanders one day. I am looking forward to winning trophies with the club.”

He is reuniting with Highlanders midfielder Valentine Ndaba and old friend whom he played with at Gunners.

The coming in of Dephistara however leaves Highlanders still searching for a right-back which has been their weaker position this season.
