HARARE City Football club has confirmed the sacking of head coach Bigboy Mawiwi following a spate of dreadful results.

The Harare City gaffer was given the boot while attending a two day coaching clinic conducted by the La Masia coaches from FC Barcelona from Monday to Tuesday.

Club secretary Mathew Mahara said they have since elevated assistant coach Masimba Dinyero to the position of head coach.

"We parted ways with Mawiwi. The results were not forthcoming and we decided it was time to change the technical personnel,” said Mahara.

“We want the team to survive relegation and we hope Dinyero will be able to save the team from relegation."

The Sunshine City Boys were coming from a 2-0 defeat to Hwange at the weekend after having been held to a 1-1 draw at home by the same opponents.

That result left them threatened with relegation as they remain third from the bottom with just 15 points in 16 matches of the campaign.
