Mapeza without duo for Bosso clash

Dinyero set to be named City coach

NORMAN Mapeza will lead his new club FC Platinum into Sunday’s crucial hosting of Highlanders without suspended players Donald Ngoma and James Marufu.

Each of the two received a third yellow card of the season against Black Rhinos on Wednesday.

With other forwards Nelson Maziwisa, Stephen Sibanda, Mitchell Katsvairo and Obrey Chirwa not scoring regularly, missing leading striker Ngoma could provide a big headache for Mapeza.

Ngoma leads the scoring for the strikers with five goals while defender Qadr Amini also has five goals.

New striker Ashley Mukwenya would also be under pressure to prove his signing after opening his scoring account in last week’s Chibuku Super Cup.

Mapeza could find himself in a tricky situation facing title contenders while missing crucial material.

“Like I have always said, I do not want to put myself under pressure. We will just play our normal game,” Mapeza said.

“It happens in football that players get yellow cards and miss matches. But we just have to look forward and give others chance.”

Marufu has established himself as a reliable anchor-man but Thabani Kamusoko can stand in for him.

Their opponents Highlanders will miss Pasca Manhanga who was shown a red card in Thursday’s 1-0 win over Triangle.

FIXTURES

SATURDAY: Harare City v How Mine, ZPC Kariba v Bantu Rovers, Chicken Inn v Shabanie Mine

SUNDAY: FC Platinum v Highlanders, Caps United v Chapungu, Buffaloes v Black Rhinos, Triangle v Dynamos, Hwange v Chiredzi
