HIGHLANDERS attacker Charles Sibanda is delighted with his goal that sunk his former club FC Platinum in Sunday’s PSL 1-0 win at Mandava Stadium.

Sibanda struck as early as the third minute to decide the Mandava contest.

It was new FC Platinum coach Norman Mapeza’s first loss since taking over at the platinum miners two weeks ago.

For Highlanders, it was a continuation of their dominance over FC Platinum who have beaten them only once in eight meetings.

The Bulawayo giants are now on second spot with just a point behind leaders Dynamos.

Sibanda made the difference on Sunday and the midfielder-cum-striker spent three seasons at the platinum miners before returning to his boyhood club Highlanders.

“I am happy to have scored against my former club. They were closely marking me because they knew my capabilities and I managed to get a goal despite that,” Sibanda said.

“I am now employed by Highlanders and I give my all to them. My return to this stadium marked by a goal will always be memorable to me.”

The Warriors striker took his tally to 12 league goals and is in line to claim the Golden Boot award as well as the Player of the Season award he won in 2010 although under controversial circumstances.
