FORMER Chiredzi FC coach Moses "Bambo" Chunga was on Tuesday installed as coach of Mutare army side Buffaloes to replace Luke Masomere who dumped the club this week to join How Mine.

Buffaloes chairman Hlanganiso Matangaidze confirmed the capture of Chunga.

“It’s a done deal. He has vast experience,” said Matangaidze.

Chunga, who lifted the league title with Gunners in 2009 was kicked out of Chiredzi FC in controversial circumstances following sharp differences with other members of the team's management.

At Buffaloes Chunga takes over a team in eighth place with 29 points from 21 matches and will be expected to fight for a top four finish.

Under Masomere, Buffaloes won eight matches, drew five and lost eight, but with nine matches left before the end of the campaign, Buffaloes still have a realistic chance of finishing in the top four.
