MOSES Chunga returns to the dugout on Wednesday when his new charges, Buffaloes, travel to Bulawayo for a date with injury-plagued championship-chasing Highlanders at Hartsfield Stadium.

Chunga took over from Luke Masomere, who moved to How Mine, last week, and this is his first league assignment since being fired by Chiredzi Football Club in July.

In the reverse fixture, Highlanders thumped Buffaloes 3-1 at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare and the army side will certainly be looking for revenge to give Chunga the best possible start.

Highlanders are limping going into the match with leading scorer Charles Sibanda who has 12 league goals, due to pass a late fitness test to be available for Wednesday’s tie.

That is not all. Veteran skipper Innocent Mapuranga, Dumisani “Fazo” Ndlovu, Honest Moyo, Rahman Kutsanzira, Gabriel Nyoni and Kudzi Machazane are also in the theatre.

“Hopefully there will be an improvement from the guys, but we won’t rush them back because the remaining nine games are very crucial as the competition is tough and it’s still anyone’s game,” said Bosso coach Kelvin Kaindu.

Kaindu has one eye on Saturday’s $110,000 TM Challenge Cup clash against Dynamos in Harare and would want his best players available.

Pasca Manhanga will miss tomorrow’s league match as he is still serving suspension after he was red-carded in a league match against Triangle at Hartsfield on August 21.

Kaindu, though can call on Simba Sithole and give him a cameo role to test his match fitness after the former How Mine striker returned from a short spell at South African side Ajax Cape Town.

In other matches, Chapungu will seek to maintain their unbeaten home run when they host Chicken Inn at Ascot Stadium in Gweru. Here Chapungu have felled Dynamos (1-0) and Caps United (3-0) and became the first team to beat ZPC Kariba (3-0), this season.

Elsewhere, Black Rhinos are in for a tough match against a resurgent Harare City at Rimuka Stadium.

Norman Mapeza, who lost his second league match against Highlanders last week, takes his charges to Net One Wallet Cup finalists Triangle knowing that a second league defeat in a row, will certainly set the early pressure on him.

The former Warriors coach enjoyed a winning start when he beat Black Rhinos 1-0 at Rimuka before the Bosso loss. He also progressed to the quarterfinals of the Chibuku Super Cup after thumping Bantu Rovers 3-0.
