NORMALCY finally returned at Caps United whose house was on fire with players’ at the throat of the club executive over non-payment of salaries.

The players were owed July and August salaries and were threatening to boycott Saturday’s Chibuku Super Cup quarter-final match against FC Platinum at Mandava Stadium.

But club chiefs moved in fast on Thursday when they paid the players.

“The players have been paid their dues and we are now ready for FC Platinum. Everyone is now happy at the club and we are geared up for the game,” chief spokesperson Joyce Kapota said.

“It is good that morale is high in camp because that is good for the team. We are high in spirit which is healthy in the well-being of our squad.”

The Harare giants will be facing an FC Platinum side that humiliated them with half a dozen goal they never replied to in last weekend’s final of the ZNA Charity Shield.

They now return to Mandava Stadium seeking revenge.

And coach Taurai Mangwiro received a huge boost after leading striker Dominic Chungwa shook off a groin injury in time to be available for Saturday’s showdown.

Also available for selection are Hardlife Zvirekwi, Nicholas Alifandika, Gerald Phiri and Kelvin Bulaji.

To earn passage to the quarter finals of the Chibuku Super Cup, they beat Chapungu 3-0 in the first round.
