ZIMBABWE Under-23 head coach Calisto Pasuwa says he doesn't understand why Zifa opted to play Swaziland in an international friendly match on Wednesday who will be their opponents in the 2015 African Championship qualifiers as well as the All-Africa Games qualifiers.

"I don't understand why they opted for Swaziland who are our opponents. I didn't have a problem playing any other team which is not Swaziland. Last time it cost us in the 2015 African Cup of Nations
qualifiers. We went to play Tanzania in a friendly.

“They assessed our strengths and weaknesses and they beat us. What makes it worse is that we will be using our Under-23 players yet they will be fielding their senior team. It's a problem, but I am not saying it is the reason why I didn't go with the team," said Pasuwa.

According to the draw for the 2015 Under-23 African Championships and the All-Africa Games qualifiers, the Young Warriors face Swaziland in Mbabane in the first round of the All- Africa Games
qualifier in February before hosting them in March for the second leg.

The winner between the two will then meet Cameroon in the second round.

The Young Warriors will also face Swaziland in the African Championship qualifying campaign in April and should they win the encounter they will face neighbours South Africa in the second round with Senegal awaiting in the third round should they overcome their neighbours.

The Young Warriors suffered a 1-0 defeat to Botswana in one of their international friendly in Gaborone last month.

They were under the guidance of assistant coaches Saul Chaminuka and Nation Dube while head coach Pasuwa was away attending a Caf technical conference to review the 2014 World Cup staged in Brazil.

And again, ZPC Kariba and Hwange coaches Chaminuka and Dube will lead the Young Warriors against Sihlangu after Pasuwa failed to travel with the team again arguing his assistant Philemon Mutyakureva is away attending a Caf B licence course in Bulawayo.

Pasuwa was in Mutare on Sunday when he led his team to an important 1-0 win over army side Buffaloes which helped them to consolidate their place at the top of the summit.
