KAIZER Chief’s midfielder Willard Katsande will undergo a scan on his abdominal area, after sustaining an injury against Chippa United at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday evening.

The Zimbabwe international was taken off the field after the half-an-hour mark, and replaced by Uganda international Ivan Bukenya during Amakhosi's 1-0 Absa Premiership victory over the Chilly Boys.

"Katsande got injured in the abdominal area. Full details of his injury will be determined by the scanner results on Monday," a statement read on Chiefs official Twitter account on Sunday.

The hard-tacking midfielder is yet to miss a single match for Chiefs in this campaign, and coach, Stuart Baxter, will be hoping that Katsande's injury is not serious.

High-flying Amakhosi, who are placed top of the Absa Premiership log with 40 points, will take on Free State Stars in an Absa Premiership encounter at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Tuesday evening.
