MOSES ‘Bambo’ Chunga, who was to walking away from Castle Lager Premier Soccer League side Buffaloes, is set to renew his contract with the club which expires on December 31.

Chunga failed to reach the target of a top eight finish set by his employers after managing a 10th position in the just ended campaign.

This had led to speculation that he would not be given a contract extension.

However, Buffaloes through their chairman Hlanganiso Matangaidze revealed after an executive meeting held at the weekend that they were going to extend Chunga's contract.

The army side just managed to survive relegation on the final day of the season following a 2-1 win over Hwange.

Despite the coach's failure to meet the target, the club's executive wants to give Chunga another chance.

“After our meeting as an executive at the weekend to discuss the state of affairs at the club we also touched on the issue of the coach," said Matangaidze.

“The executive resolved to renew his contract which is set to expire on December 31. The coach is very happy at the club and we always want to keep the coach happy.”
