Muchekela joins Dynamos as Assistant coach

DYNAMOS have appointed Naison Muchekela as their second assistant coach, the Harare giants and Zimbabwe champions have confirmed.

Muchekela officially joined the team of David Mandigora and Tonderayi Ndiraya at training on Friday after the league champions failed to bring in Biggie Zuze, who opted to stay at Lowveld side, Triangle.

Muchekela, a former Dynamos player, was at Division One side La Liga last season and his arrival at Dynamos has been in the pipeline since 2013 as a possible replacement for Ndiraya who had left at the time.

In 2013, Muchekela had been touted as a possible replacement to Ndiraya, following his fallout with Pasuwa but the move suffered a still birth.

The Harare giants, who started training two weeks ago, will have their first competitive match this weekend when they face Northern Region Division One side Mushowani Stars in a match meant to assess a number of potential regulars at the club.

Some of the players include veteran former Warriors striker Newton Katanha, Ugandan striker Kenneth Igama, a midfielder from Ghana and Kasimero Chimbadzwa who was at Division One side ZRP Football Club, formerly Black Mambas.

Dynamos received a further boost in their preparations when left back Ocean Mushure finally pitched up at training and will fight for a slot with new singing Qadr Amini, who joined on two year contract from FC Platinum last week.

Team manager Richard Chihoro said: “As you know there have been a number of players trying their luck with the club, we have been joined by a midfielder from Ghana and a striker from Uganda (Igama).

“They haven’t signed yet and I am sure the coaches will use the friendly matches at the weekend to make a decision on all the players who have been on trials. By Monday we should have our squad of 30.”

Dynamos lost Tawanda Muparati and Devon Chafa to How Mine, Thomas
Magorimbo to ZPC Kariba and Ronald Chitiyo to South Africa National
First Division One side Royal Eagles.

They are still to tie down the quartet of Washington Pakamisa, who is believed to be in Mozambique, Roderick Mutuma, Russel Madamombe and Tafadzwa Rusike as negotiations are on-going with their managers.

But time is running out for the players as Dynamos have indicated they will start registering their players with the Premier Soccer League after this weekend’s behind closed doors friendly.
