FANS will have to fork out more this Sunday after Highlanders hiked gate charges for their big Castle Lager Premier Soccer League match against Caps United at Barbourfields Stadium.

The cheapest ticket will cost $5 from $3 for the rest of the ground while those seeking the comfort of the VIP stand will pay a handsome $15.

Fans who can’t afford the hike can however the game live on Supersport.

The hike was confirmed in a statement released Tuesday by club chief executive Ndumiso Gumede.

"As we prepare for the Highlanders FC versus Caps United match, and in particular considering our financial predicament, the club has resolved to charge the following: Rest of Ground $5-00, Wings $10-00, VIP $15-00,” said Gumede.

“The PSL has issued complimentary privilege cards to persons who have been cleared for the privilege card status.

“In the spirit of realizing as much revenue as possible so that the club meets its financial obligations, there will be strict controls of people entering the stadium.”

In their last league clash at the same venue last season, Highlanders crushed Caps United 4-0 before losing 2-1 in the reverse fixture at the National Sports Stadium.

Bosso are in fourth place with 10 points, five behind Chicken Inn at the top and four lower than Dynamos.

In third place in Triangle with 13 points and Highlanders will be relishing the chance of closing the gap on the top three.

The Bulawayo giants beat Dongo Sawmill 1-0 last Sunday while Caps could only manage a 1-1 draw against ZPC Kariba.


Friday: FC Platinum v Tsholotsho (Mandava)

Saturday: How Mine v Whawha (Barbourfields), ZPC Kariba v Flame Lily (Gwanzura)

Sunday: Highlanders v CAPS United (Barbourfields), Buffaloes v Chapungu (Sakubva), Hwange v Dongo Sawmill (Colliery), Triangle v Harare City (Gibbo), Dynamos v Chicken Inn (Rufaro).
