Guinea test: Katsande, Musona upbeat

CZECH Republic based full-back Costa Nhamoinesu flew into the country on Tuesday morning and took part in the Warriors’ afternoon training session at Rufaro.

The rest of the South African based players were expected later in the evening while Knowledge Musona who plays his club football for KV Oostende and Sweden based Mathew Rusike were expected in Harare on Wednesday.

Zifa spokesperson Xolisani Gwesela confirmed Costa’s arrival.

“Costa has arrived in the country and will be going for training in the afternoon,” he said.

“All the South African based players are expected in the country tonight (last night).

“All the players have received their air tickets so the preparations can now begin in earnest.”

There had been speculation over the availability of the foreign based players amid reports that Zifa had not sent them air tickets to travel for the match with Costa Nhamoinesu having to use his own money to buy an air ticket.

Zifa have promised to refund him.

The Warriors had a good start in the Group L, 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifying campaign, after beating Malawi 2-1 while Guinea were stunned by Swaziland by the same score line.

Zimbabwe are joint leaders in Group L with Swaziland on three points.
