HARARE City would be looking to atone for Wednesday's away league defeat at ZPC Kariba as well as last season's Chibuku Super Cup near-miss when they clash with Triangle in this knockout tournament's quarterfinal at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.

City fell 2-0 to ZPC Kariba on Wednesday to expose their expansively assembled squad and technical team.

The defeat piled pressure on coach, Taurai Mangwiro, whose side's season has been marked by inconsistency.

Having been losing finalists of the Chibuku Super Cup last season where they succumbed on penalty shootouts to defending champions FC Platinum, City have a point to prove on Saturday.

Mangwiro said they are aiming to do better, with claiming the Cup being the only rung to climb up.

"Last season we lost one. The final so we have to perform better this season. Yes we really want to win this Cup and hopefully we will get past Triangle," Mangwiro said.

"We might have lost to ZPC Kariba but we are not taking it as a crisis or allow it to demoralise us. This is a Cup game where we cannot read much into the form book.

“It is once-off match of a certain stage and you will be looking forward to the next round. I quite positive we will get it right."

Interestingly, they face equally wounded Triangle who have not won their last five league games with the latest being Wednesday's 2-1 home loss to Chicken Inn.
