WARRIORS team manager Shariff Mussa has confirmed that the England based trio of Brendan Galloway, Tendayi Darikwa and Maccaulley Bonne have been ruled out of the back to back 2017 African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Swaziland on Good Friday and Easter Monday.

Galloway who turns out for Everton has already been named in the England Under 21 to face Switzerland in the European championship qualifier on Saturday.

Mussa said in a statement: “Please note that 27 players have been called into camp and, unfortunately, Brendon Galloway and Tendayi Darikwa are unable to participate in these back-to-back clashes.

“Galloway has already been selected for the England U21 but, should he decide otherwise and opt to play for our senior team in future, the door is still open for him.

“Tendai Darikwa was very keen to play for Zimbabwe but, at the moment, he has some pressing family issues to attend, hence he will not be available for the clashes against

“Macauley Bonne has been released by his team and is willing to participate but, unfortunately, he has some personal issues to solve. Hopefully, he will finish in time and join the training camp.

“However, he has communicated to be excused at the moment to finalise his issues. We will advise the public about his availability during the course of the week.”

The Warriors are expected to get into camp on Monday evening to start preparations for the encounter.

Some of the European-based players named in the squad include Czech Republic-based Costa Nhamoinesu, Netherlands based Marvellous Nakamba, China based Nyasha Mushekwi and Knowledge Musona who plays his club football in Belgium turning out for KV Oostende.

The rest of the players are however based in South Africa, including skipper Willard Katsande.

The Warriors, who are tied on four points with their opponents Swaziland in Group L after two games in the campaign, travel to Swaziland first for the showdown on Friday before hosting their opponents in Harare three days later on Easter Monday.

Zimbabwe defeated the Flames of Malawi 2-1 in the first game before drawing 1-1 at home against Guinea. Swaziland shocked Guinea 2-1 away from home before drawing 2-2 against Malawi.

Guinea and Malawi are third and fourth in the group with a point each.

Zimbabwe now needs to win both matches to enhance their chances of qualifying for the biennial soccer show case to be staged in Gabon.
