FOLLOWING their elimination from the Caf Confederation Cup, Harare City turn their attention to Easter Sunday’s ZNA Charities Shield semi-final match against ZPC Kariba at Nhamhunga Stadium.

City were last Sunday ran over 3-1 by Zambian side Zanaco to crush out of the continental second tier club competition on a 5-2 aggregate defeat.

Their exit saw Zimbabwe left with no representatives in Caf inter-club competitions after Chicken Inn were booted out of the Champions League by Mamelodi Sundowns in the preliminary stages late last month.

All club attention now returns on the domestic scene with City clashing with ZPC Kariba for a place in the final of the ZNA Charities Shield.

Already Highlanders are in the final of the ZNA Shield after kicking out FC Platinum in another semi-final match at Barbourfields Stadium last Saturday.

Harare City captain Themba Ndlovu said they have to atone for the Zanaco loss by beating ZPC Kariba.

“It was painful to lose to Zanaco so we want something to put smiles back on our faces,” Ndlovu said.

“We could have beaten Zanaco after we scored that early goal but we lapsed and conceded three goals. But there is still something to play for here at home.

“We have to win against ZPC Kariba. I know it will not be easy because they are a strong team. We just have to work harder and do our best.”

Harare City beat Caps United to book a ZNA Charities Shield semi-final spot. Their opponents Caps United eliminated giants Dynamos to storm into the last four.
