FC Platinum return home on Saturday when they host Chapungu in a league match at Mandava Stadium.

The platinum miners go into this Midlands derby smart from beating Dynamos on Monday to finish as the third best team in the Independence Cup.

Zambian import Obrey Chirwa continued with his fine form as he scored the opener against Dynamos before Wellington Kamudyariwa doubled their advantage.

But they now shift focus to their bid for a first league title in their fifth PSL season.

Coach Norman Mapeza has told his boys to put the Dynamos triumph behind them and focus on Chapungu.

“We won against Dynamos but it is now water under the bridge. We have to look ahead and move on,” Mapeza said.

“We are now preparing for Chapungu and to us it is a crucial game. Every match is very important to us. We are not taking Chapungu lightly. Of course we want three points and we will work hard towards achieving that.”

While Chapungu have lost a match and won the other in the league campaign, FC Platinum have a flawless record as they have won their two games home and away.

Their last league victory was a 2-1 win over Highlanders away at Barbourfields Stadium.
