Dynamos cash in on Sunday derby, hike charges

Hoping to repeat history ... Caps United boss, Lloyd Chitembwe

DYNAMOS have hiked gate charges as they seek to cash in on the big Harare derby against Caps United set for Rufaro Stadium this Sunday.

Club secretary, Webster Chikengezha, said the rest of the ground ticket has been pegged at $5; the upper west grand stand $10 with those wishing to watch the match from the VIP stand set to fork out $15.

In their last league match at home against Triangle which ended in a 0-0 stalemate, Dynamos did not make any changes as they maintained the $3 rest of ground ticket.

With the derby against bitter City rivals Caps United likely to woo a huge crowd, the Dynamos leadership has seen this as an opportunity to cash in.

The two teams meet in the 76th edition of the Harare derby with Caps United seeking to break the jinx against their rivals whom they have not beaten since April 2009 when a Nyasha Mushekwi double powered them to a memorable victory.

Then, as now, Caps United were under the guidance of Lloyd Chitembwe. He is the last Caps United boss to have beaten Dynamos in a league match and he goes into Sunday match hoping to do just that since he led his side to that victory in 2009.

But on the hand Dynamos coach, Jorge Paulo Silva, is under pressure to win this match as he is sitting on a three match ultimatum to collect nine points from three matches.

He already has three points after overcoming Mutare City 2-1last Sunday and a stumble against Caps United could end his marriage with the Glamour Boys.
