BULAWAYO giants Highlanders have a good opportunity to dislodge FC Platinum from the top of the log when they host Triangle at Barbourfields Stadium on Wednesday.

FC Platinum leapt to the top of the summit on Sunday following a hard fought 1-0 victory over Chicken Inn.

The Zvishavane-based side had a game in hand and the victory took their points tally to 33, to dislodge Highlanders who also have a game in hand with 30 points.

But Bosso have a superior goal difference over FC Platinum and a win by any margin Wednesday will lift them to the top of the log once again.

So far in the campaign, the leadership at the top has changed hands several times between Bosso, FC Platinum and Caps United.

Highlanders go into the match with their confidence high, having lifted the ZNA Charity Shield - their first silverware of the campaign after edging Harare City 4-2 on penalties.

With the win, Highlanders banked $12,000, while Harare City went home with $8,000.

It was also a game in which third choice goalkeeper Prosper Matutu endeared himself to the Highlanders’ fans between the sticks.
