CAPS United cut the lead at the top to two points Thursday as they closed in on leaders FC Platinum following a laboured 1-0 victory over Tsholotsho in Bulawayo.

Dominic Chungwa scored the all-important goal which gave Caps United the maximum points as FC stumbled in a 1-1 draw against bogey side Hwange at Mandava.

FC Platinum had raced into the lead on nine minutes through Nqobizitha Masuku but the coal miners clawed back into the match through veteran striker Gilbert Zulu to ensure a share of the spoils.

The draw left the league pacesetters with 37 points two ahead of Caps United in sixteen starts.

At Rufaro Stadium Harare City completed a double over ZPC Kariba after defeating them 2-0 through goals by defender Chrispen Dickson and Martin Vengesayi.

Harare City had beaten their opponents 1-0 in the reverse fixture. The Sunshine City Boys had gone for three matches without a win.
