After Afcon nightmare, Musona shines for his Belgian club

Musona tipped for Bundesliga success

WARRIORS striker Knowledge Musona made an instant impact in Belgium on Tuesday after returning from the doomed 2017 African Cup of Nations campaign with Zimbabwe after scoring a decisive goal as KV Oostende dismissed Genk 1-0 to storm into the final of the Belgium Cup.

KV Oostende have been struggling for consistency in the absence of Musona losing three matches and winning two in the past five matches.

But once he returned he scored the goal that made the difference with the solitary goal on eight minutes to help his team qualify for the final of the cup competition for the first time.

KV Oostende will now meet the winner between Zulte Waregerem AS Upen. Musona is still the club's top goal scorer with eight goals.

The Zimbabwean international returned to Belgium soon after the Warriors crashed out of the tournament following an embarrassing 4-2 defeat to Tunisia in the last Group B match of the campaign.

Musona was unfortunate to suffer an injury in the first 10 minutes of the opening African Cup of Nations tie against Algeria and was substituted and had to watch the match from the bench.

He also did not take part in the second match- a 2-0 defeat to Senegal-and only returned for the last group match-a decider against Tunisia in which he scored one of the goals in a 4-2 defeat that saw the Warriors out of the tournament at the group stage.
