NGEZI Platinum forward Terrence Dzukamanja scored the only goal of the match that counted for the Zimbabwean side to dismiss Pamblemousse of Mauritius 1-0 at the National Sports Stadium on Saturday.

The result saw the Zimbabwean side and qualify for the first round of the CAF Confederation Cup on a 2-1 aggregate victory.

The home team raced into the lead on 15 minutes through Dzukamanja’s strike which appeared to unsettle their opponents.

The visitors played second fiddle for the better part of the match only to come out of their shells in the second half in which they threatened with a series of attacks. However, to their credit, Ngezi Platinum remained resolute in defence.

After having managing to score an away goal in the first leg of the preliminary round in Mauritius last weekend courtesy of a penalty converted by Liberty Chakoroma which made the score line1-1, the result on Sunday means Ngezi Platinum go through on a 2-1 aggregate victory.

The Tonderai Ndiraya-coached side will now face Recreativo do Libolo of Angola in the first round.

The 16 winners of the first-round advance to the play-offs where they are joined by the 16 losers of the Champions League first round. The 16 winners of the play-off round advance to the group stage.
