NEWLY appointed Warriors coach Norman Mapeza has named a squad dominated by home based players to face neighbours Zambia in an international friendly match at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday.

Mapeza has also picked Ngezi Platinum coach Tonderai Ndiraya and Mandla Mpofu to be his assistants.

Orlando Pirates hit-man Tendai Ndoro and Maritzburg United striker are the only foreign based players in the team.

Big Caps United goalkeeper Edmore ‘Zikeeper’ Sibanda who helped his club in overcoming five-time African champions TP Mazembe to qualify for the lucrative group stage of the CAF champions league has also been rewarded with a call up.

FC Platinum goalkeeper Petros Mhari, consistently overlooked by former Warriors coach Kalisto Pasuwa, has also been included in the squad.

There was however no place for Caps United defender Hardlife Zvirekwi and Dynamos defender Elisha Muroiwa.

The pair was part of the Warriors squad that participated at the 2017 African Cup of Nations finals in Gabon in January.
