HIGHLANDERS can breathe a sigh of relief after head coach Erol Akbay returned to training after striking for two days due to unpaid salary.

The Dutch born mentor was absent from the team’s training for two days ahead of their crucial game on Sunday against returnees Shabanie Mines at home.

It is believed that apart from the salary, Highlanders haven’t paid the coach his signing-on fees, which have not been paid in full since he arrived in the country last year and the Highlanders executive, had committed to pay him on arrival back from holiday earlier this year.

The coach has told the media that they have agreed on terms and conditions, on how they will pay him and he wants to concentrate on his job right now.

“We have agreed on some things and we have to move on and win the game on Sunday. I think that is more important than what happened in the last few days.

"I was not feeling well and I was not on strike. Of course, we had a fight and it was financial problems, but it has been solved,: the coach said.
