BULAWAYO giants Highlanders underlined their title credentials after edging league pace setters Ngezi Platinum 1-0 in a tense Castle Lager Premiership tie at the National Sports Stadium on Sunday to shoot to the summit of the league table.

Veteran midfielder Simon Munawa scored the only goal that separated the two sides on 75 minutes.

Bosso now enjoy a cool breeze at the summit of the league table with 12 points from five matches, while Ngezi Platinum dropped to second position with 10 points.

With the way Erol Akbay's men are applying themselves observers believe this could be their year.

Highlanders have won their last three matches against ZPC Kariba whom they edged 3-2 at their fortress Nyamhunga before overcoming Tsholotsho 2-1 at Dulivhadzimu Stadium last week. And Sunday's defeat of Ngezi has given Bosso the confidence ahead of the upcoming matches.

Meanwhile, Caps United walloped Chapungu 4-0 on Saturday sending a message to critics who believe they won't be able to defend their championship.
