ZPC Kariba coach Sunday Chidzambwa immediately announced his resignation after the midweek fixture.

In other games, army team Black Rhinos were also back to winning ways, beating Hwange FC 2-0 while How Mine edged sugar boys Triangle FC 2-1.

Defending champions Caps United also dismissed Chicken Inn 1-0. The only goal of the match came in the 83rd minute through the boot of Dominic Chungwa.

Meanwhile, speaking to journalists after his team’s loss to Ngezi, Chidzambwa said it was time for someone to take over the hot seat at ZPC Kariba FC but insisted he will oversee the remaining games to the end of the season.

I came here in 2015 and I haven’t won anything. I think it’s fair for me to quit and let somebody else take over. I feel that I have let the community down,” said Chidzambwa.

“I want it to be known to my employers that they should start looking for somebody else to take over from me at the end of the season.”

ZPC Kariba are in sixth place on the league table with 39 points, 13 behind leaders Dynamos and title chasing the Ngezi Platinum and FC Platinum.
